where you go in that dark night
is not my concern, because when you
come back, it is the smell of
willing ink, the clash of wind chimes,
the truth in breath, the sky folding
over, our own blanket. under there, i’m
the only thing ever held against you.

Ellie Elrod is a senior at Goose Creek High School who will graduate in June of 2021. They live in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and spend their free time writing, listening to music, playing video games, and watching movies. As a writer, their specialties are screenwriting and poetry.
