Ava Jekel is a high school junior born and raised in the heart of Texas. She is an alumna of the WITS Creative Writing Summer Camp at Rice University and is honored to be an editor at Polyphony Lit. Her forever-long passion for writing is why she spends entire afternoons intensely typing her next short story or poem about angsty teens. When she’s not at the keyboard, Ava enjoys attending her local martial arts dojo, where she holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She has far too many hobbies, but some of her favorites are studying French and Spanish, listening to music of any genre, and going on pensive car rides.
